Donna
Atkinson
Public
Relations Specialist
A
graduate of Syracuse University, Donna Atkinson is a seasoned
public relations professional who got her start opening a
major department store between Macy's and Gimbels on Herald
Square, in New York City. The store opening was so successful
that Time Magazine gave it coverage and the NYC Police Department
had to "lock people out" and admit shoppers only when some
left the store. A
resident of Dallas Texas since 1986 and an expert in University
and academic marketing and public relations, Donna has charmed
the local, national and international media into providing
coverage for special events at Fair Park, Dallas' largest
collection of cultural attractions and home of the Cotton
Bowl Stadium; and has successfully promoted 100 shopping mall
special events.
Adept
at working with community organizations, Donna has been instrumental
in forwarding these organizations' objectives. She has also
volunteered extensively throughout her career and was a Board
of Directors member of the Philadelphia Club of Advertising
Women, President of the West Point Parents Club of North Texas,
and President of the Board of Dallas Community Television.
